CELSA Steel Service has successfully completed the installation of two solar plants at its factories located in Åminnefors, Finland. This initiative is part of the CELSA Nordic Group’s objective of reducing CO2 emissions by 50% in 2030 and achieving an ambitious goal of zero emissions by 2050. Both solar plants have the same size and are expected to contribute significantly to improving
the environmental performance of the CELSA Nordic Group. Composed of 850 solar panels, they will offer a maximum effect of 205kWp and their annual production is estimated at 207MWh. The solar energy will be used to supply the main activities related to the production, loading and unloading of materials and cooling or heating installations, among others.Together with the installation of solar panels, CELSA Steel Service has installed LED luminaires in the pavilions of its installations and heating/cooling systems using air/water pumps. In this way, the company reduces its local emissions, showing the way to the branch and, at the same time, offering its customers a more environmentally friendly alternative. Due to the success of the project, the Group plans to extend the installation of solar power plants to other facilities in the future.
