The billet is a semi-processed steel product obtained directly from our electric arc furnace steel mill, with a square section of up to 160x160mm and lengths of up to 13 meters, used for the manufacturing of finished steel products through rolling processes, and available in chemical compositions tailored to our customer’s needs.
The billet is produced in a three-step process, which includes the melting of scrap, the refining of the chemistry and finally the casting from liquid steel into the shape of square sections.
CELSA Group™, positioned among European leaders in high value wire rods, has a wide range of qualities and diameters ranging from 5mm to 52mm, manufactured according to international standards and adapted to the technical specifications of the customer.
Depending on its composition and characteristics, the wire rod is available in low, medium and high carbon steels (between 0.05% and 0.86%) with different alloy grades (Al, B, Cr, Mn, Mo, P, Si, S, etc.). In addition, wire rods can be supplied in round or hexagonal shapes, in different coil formats and with a wide variety of thermal and superficial treatments.
Within its extensive range of products, CELSA Group™ specializes in wire rod for cold stamping, tyre reinforcement, suspension springs, free-cutting, cold drawing and heading steels, and case-hardening steels, as well as low, medium and high carbon steels.
CELSA Nordic production of wire rod is concentrated to production of mesh, low carbon for drawing and medium to high carbon mainly for bailing and prestressed wire.
Reinforcing steel is the element that, together with the concrete, configures the reinforced concrete, the most commonly used method in construction. Currently the Group, leader in reinforcing steel, produces in Spain, Norway, Poland, and the United Kingdom.
CELSA Nordic offers reinforcing steel bars up to 40mm in diameter and coils up to 16mm, in accordance with the most stringent national and international product standards and with the approvals and quality certifications necessary in the markets in which we operate.
